About YEA Camp
Youth Empowered Action Camp is a life-changing camp for world-changing teens — now with a camp for adults too!
Thanks for your interest in YEA (rhymes with Hey!) Camp and making our world a better place!
OK, we admit we’re biased, but YEA Camp really might be the most amazing place on the planet.
Where else can you be surrounded by ridiculously nice people who want to change the world — and who want to do everything they can to help YOU make a huge difference too?
Plus, it’s camp, so you know it’ll be fun!
Who We Are
Not your typical summer camp counselors.
Every summer since YEA Camp began in 2009, we've brought together the most amazing group of changemakers we can find to help train our campers to make a bigger difference on social justice issues from climate change to racism, gay rights to animal rights.
Seeing the impact our camp was making for a decade's worth of teens, and recognizing that adults need this type of training too, we launched our first camp for adults in 2018.
We have a ton of experience working on a variety of causes and want to support you in making a bigger difference on the issues most important to you.
Our youth and adult campers go on to do such inspiring things -- from raising thousands of dollars for the causes of their choice, launching voter registration drives, changing school and corporate policies, organizing rallies, and so much more. And many of the nearly 1,000 campers who have gone through our programs commonly describe YEA Camp as critically important in helping them to get more active on a cause they care about -- or even as one of the greatest experiences of their life.
We're here to help you make a bigger difference in a way that inspires you -- because we could all use a little help changing the world.

Meet Our Founder!
Nora Kramer
Founder & Executive Director
It took 8 years from when our founder, Nora Kramer, first had the idea to start a summer camp for aspiring activists until finally launching YEA Camp in 2009.
During those 8 years, she set out to become the person she felt she needed to be to run the life-changing and world-changing camp she wanted to exist. Obsessed, she worked as a full-time activist, got her teaching credential and taught high school English, spent 3 years in intensive communication and leadership training and coaching, studied social movements and many interconnected social injustices, and worked at and learned from 4 different camps around the country that were the closest thing she could find to what she envisioned.
Now in our second decade of YEA Camp, Nora has spent about half of her life devoted to training others to make a bigger difference on the social justice causes they care most about.
Meet Some of Our Amazing YEA Camp Staff!
Most of our staff only work at 1-2 sessions per summer, and we may still be finalizing who will be working at which session, but check out some of the bios of our staff below to get a sense of the type of people who work at YEA Camp, if not the exact staff members for your upcoming session.
