Teenagers are powerful and can change the world. But without training and support, they often don’t.
YEA Camp is a summer camp for social change.
YEA Camp was founded on the belief that kids are naturally idealistic and compassionate and instinctively want to make the world a better place.
Yet, most kids do not learn skills, have role models, or receive encouragement in school to address some of the biggest problems in our society. Without these things, people can become resigned or cynical about having the power to impact the world around them.
Since 2009, YEA Camp has worked with hundreds of inspiring teens. Campers consistently share that YEA Camp was one of the most impactful and life-changing experiences they have had. Our campers have gone on to do amazing things to make their schools, communities, and world a better place, and many tell us they would never have done these things without YEA Camp.
We are honored and thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such inspired and inspiring young change-makers.
YEA Camp is run by educators and activists with many years of experience working with youth and toward social change for a more peaceful and sustainable world. We believe in positive, non-violent approaches, and because we recognize that so many of the social justice issues we face are interconnected, we encourage our campers to get active on the cause of their choice. “I just love the people behind YEA; they are making a difference and they are incredible people. It gives me warm fuzzies knowing YEA Camp exists and provides a place for teens that need to be around others like them, being accepted for who they are, and giving them the skills and confidence to change the world!”
-Kristie, mother of Hannah, age 15, Arizona
